Google's permission boxes arrive unticked. The one thing to do on that screen is tap Select all.
Outlook and other providers are coming.
Signing in lets Force know who you are and nothing else. It cannot read your mail, your calendar or your files with this. Where an agent needs to read a mailbox, that is a separate connection you make on its own card, and anything that would change something outside this product stops and asks you first.
- It can know who you are
- It is only how the account is identified. It reads nothing. Without it, we cannot sign you in.
- It can know which address this is
- Your address, so two mailboxes are not mistaken for each other. Without it, we cannot tell your mailboxes apart.
2 boxes, and it is the same list the authorisation request sends, so this screen cannot describe a different grant from the one you are about to give.
- You can take it away at any time, from your Google account or from Accounts here.
- Nothing is read from a mailbox, a sender or a label you rule out on the next-but-one screen.
- Leaving one unticked is allowed and the product copes: it says exactly which one is missing and gives you one button to ask again. Both of these are needed to sign you in at all.
